Wendielyn Escota of the Marianas Eye Institute is promoted to Executive Director | Business Section

(MEI) – Marianas Eye Institute, a regional leader for exceptional eye care, recently promoted one of its own to become the new CEO. Wendielyn Escota started working at MEI in 2011 as an eye care technician and has proven to be a leader and mentor to the talented MEI team.

Wendie comes from a solid hospitality background that shines through every interaction. Escota brings a wealth of knowledge in customer service and quality personal care. As one of the few eye care technicians on the island who is a certified ophthalmic assistant, Escota has shown the courage to handle difficult tasks by seeing them through to completion. She also completed her Bachelor of Arts in Business Management in 2021 while working full time and raising her family. “I’m honored to have this opportunity to make a positive difference not only for our community, but also for our wonderful team,” Escota said. Escota spends her free time with her loving husband, Jerry, and their three children: Codie, Jeremiah and Eli.

CEO Russ Quinn said: “We have had our eye on Wendie for some time. She has all the skills necessary to take Marianas Eye Institute to the next level. She has positioned herself through the ranks and developed a strong understanding at the times of medicine and the business aspects of the organization. I am thrilled for her and for our clinic.

Marianas Eye Institute has been serving the community for 25 years and is recognized as a regional leader in eye care, providing comprehensive family eye care including express glasses, contact lenses, medical eye care, surgery and the laser.

The Marianas Eye Institute is staffed by Dr. Keri Allen, the islands’ only ophthalmologist, and Dr. Mark Robertson, a magna cum laude graduate; along with 29 other very talented full-time employees. Located on Beach Road in Garapan, opposite 13 Fishermen Monument, Marianas Eye Institute is open Monday through Saturday and is accepting new patients as well as walk-in visits.
