Towanda School Board Hires New Business Manager | Local/Regional

TOWANDA — With the retirement of the Towanda Area School District’s longtime business manager approaching, the Towanda School Board unanimously hired her replacement on Monday.

Brian Driscoll will take up the post July 1 under a five-year contract. He comes to the school district with a bachelor’s degree in economics from Lycoming College, a master’s degree in public administration from the State University of New York at Binghamton, and 18 years of experience in government accounting, including a decade in business. schools, according to Superintendent Dennis Peachey. Driscoll served as the Director of Management Services at BLaST 17 Intermediate Unit for five years and through this role provided Acting Business Director services to the Wyalusing and Southern Tioga School Districts.

Driscoll was selected from a pool of qualified candidates because of his extensive experience in school-related business management and his familiarity with the Towanda Area School District through his work with BLaST, according to Peachey.

Although Secor has big shoes to fill, Peachey said she has put the district in a good financial position so her successor can successfully move forward.
