New Delhi, December 2 (IANS): Adani Transmission Limited (ATL), the largest private transport company in India and a key listed entity of the diverse Adani group of companies announced on Thursday the appointment of Lisa MacCallum, as an independent director to bring a new level of knowledge and experience at ATL environmental and social impact investing and governance and goal-driven business.
MacCallum, founder of Inspired Companies, a company focused on business and branding, is ATL’s first non-Indian national director and the second female director to join the board. This decision is part of the company’s strategic efforts to strengthen its leadership and its ability to realize its environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) vision, stakeholder engagement and the influence of its international brand.
MacCallum began his professional life in accounting, finance and consulting at KPMG in Australia and the United States. She had a long career with NIKE Inc (2001-2014) based in the United States, serving on the executive leadership team in business and branding strategy roles and as vice president of philanthropy at NIKE’s global business and community investments.
Prior to joining NIKE, MacCallum co-founded Business Breakthrough, Inc., a Tokyo-based multimedia and executive education company. She is currently a member of the ESG Advisory Board of KAO Corporation Japan and is an independent non-executive director of Bond University. Lisa joins the ATL Board of Directors with extensive experience in building international multisectoral alliances and determined corporate leadership. World Economic Forum alumnus Young Global Leader is a Global Ambassador of the World Benchmarking Alliance for the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and a recipient of the Meaningful Business Leadership 100 award. She recently completed a long term independent director term on the Board of Directors Committee on Sustainability and Corporate Responsibility of British Telecom PLC from 2015 to 2019.
