The DA wishes to appoint a dynamic, motivated and goal-oriented individual, who will be based in our office at the North West Provincial Legislative Assembly, in Mahikeng. The successful candidate will report directly to the Chief of Staff and Caucus Researcher.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Communicate the message of the DA caucus through digital media, social media and other content generated by caucus oversight and legislative work
  • Help design designs aligned with the DA’s campaign message
  • Getting the political message of the DA Caucus out to the media, within the Party and to the wider public

Prospective applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Senior national certificate or equivalent
  • Advantageous relevant higher diploma
  • Experience in drafting and distributing written communication for external purposes is essential
  • Media and social media monitoring experience essential
  • Experience in creative design essential
  • Excellent command of English, spoken and written, with Afrikaans and Setswana, written and spoken, an added advantage
  • Excellent analytical skills required, with experience in fact-checking
  • Knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to identify and extract insights from traditional media statements to amplify them on social media channels
  • In-depth knowledge of the political environment in the Northwest advantageous
  • Ability to compile weekly and quarterly reports on beneficial media and social media performance
  • Ability to work quickly, accurately and creatively under tight deadlines
  • Systematic, thorough and showing excellent attention to detail
  • Commitment to the principles, policies and program of action of the Democratic Alliance
  • Autonomous and dynamic
  • Produce accurate and quality work in accordance with the required standards
  • Focused on results, not simply on tasks
  • Willingness to go the extra mile, which may include long and irregular work hours, weekends and holidays if necessary
  • Candidates MUST be in possession of a valid driver’s license and have access to an insured vehicle for daily use
