The Community School of West Seattle Business Manager provides a supportive and engaging community environment for CSWS families, students, teachers, and administration. This role is essential in managing office duties and providing administrative support to the school while engaging with families and students on a daily basis. We are looking for an experienced school office professional who has organizational, efficiency and relationship building skills.

- Physically present at the CSWS front office to answer the phone and at the front door
- Provide a warm and welcoming office environment and respond quickly to the diverse needs of current and potential families, students, teachers and administration
- Provide timely responses to daily inquiries via email, app-based messaging, phone calls, and face-to-face conversations with the Executive Director, Director of Education, teachers, and current and future families
- Track enrollment to ensure consistency of tuition revenue as well as appropriate teacher-student ratios in each class
- Consistently communicate and enforce CSWS policies to ensure organizational health and fair practices
- Maintain student records in accordance with DCYF licensing standards
- Order educational supplies, snacks, and office supplies while tracking expenses in a budget
- Manage incoming mail and deliveries
- Track bills and make bill payments
- Work with accountant to keep accounts up to date
- Help register new staff for payroll and benefits
- Occasionally assists in classrooms working directly with students as needed
- Support special events as needed
- Perform other duties assigned by the Executive Director

- High school diploma or GED required
- CDA or AA in EPE
- Previous experience working with children aged 3-5 required
- 2+ years of work experience in a school office environment
- Good computer skills required
- Strong organizational and analytical skills
- Detailed time management and record keeping skills required
- Strong written and oral communication
- Ability to exercise tact and discretion around sensitive and confidential matters
- Ability to maintain a professional demeanor
- Background check and fingerprinting via MERIT
- Current CPR/First Aid Certification
- Training on HIV/AIDS and Bloodborne Pathogens
- Tuberculosis test negative
Hours: full time, schedule to be determined with most hours worked between 7:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. MF with some exceptions for special events
Annual salary: $53,000 to $55,000, DOE
