VALLEY CITY, ND (NewsDakota.com) – The Valley City Public School Board has approved the hiring of Jackie Cordie as the school district’s new business manager effective July 1, 2022.
According to the press release, Jackie Cordie is currently an administrative assistant at Jefferson Elementary and will bring extensive experience in banking and finance, most recently serving as a branch manager from 2017-2021 at First Community Credit Union in Valley City.
Superintendent of Schools Josh Johnson said the selection committee unanimously backed Cordie’s hiring.
School Board Chairman Ryan Mathias said, “Jackie will bring a wealth of knowledge to this position from her experience in the financial world. With Jackie starting July 1, she will need to get to work for the 2022-23 school year.
Jackie Cordie said, “I am beyond grateful to be Valley City Public School’s new business manager. I envision adding value for the school district by using my past experiences to help the school succeed now and in the future. I’m lucky to have a team that embraced and welcomed me to Jefferson Elementary. I look forward to working alongside an additional group of great people.
Johnson said Cordie will replace current business manager Tom Vanorny, who will be retiring from the school district after 44 years of study. Johnson said Vanorny will retire, but will briefly retain a part-time position to help with the transition process.
