Donnelly Group has appointed Stephen Hughes as Commercial Director of its Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) dealership in Dungannon.
Hughes said he was “delighted” to be promoted to his new role with the Northern Ireland car retail group he has worked for since 2006.
His appointment follows Donnelly’s recent appointment of Andy Duke as Managing Director of Donnelly Honda, Dungannon.
Commenting on Hughes’ new role, Donnelly Managing Director Dave Sheeran said: “We are delighted to appoint Stephen as our new Chief Commercial Officer at Donnelly Group Jaguar Land Rover, bringing with him over two decades of experience in the ‘automobile industry.
“Working closely with the sales team and senior management, Stephen will lead a variety of initiatives to grow our Jaguar Land Rover product line while ensuring that our customers’ expectations are exceeded.”
JLR is currently making bold plans to move into the luxury car retail space as the Jaguar brand goes electric-only by 2025.
The changes will usher in an agency retail model and a new global network of OEM-owned retail stores, which has raised anxiety among some franchisees.
Expressing his enthusiasm to work within the evolving JLR franchise, Hughes said: “The Donnelly Group continually invests in innovative solutions to meet the ever-changing needs of the automotive market while continuing to not only meet, but exceed. the wishes of our customers.
“I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work alongside such a dedicated team, many of whom have been my colleagues for almost 25 years, to drive the Donnelly brand forward and build customer loyalty, year after year.
“Jaguar and Land Rover are world leaders pushing the boundaries between luxury and efficiency, and the continued development of their product ranges means this is a very exciting time to pursue my career within the Group family. Donnelly.”
