DOL-WIA conducts business engagement on Rota and Tinian | Business section

(Governor’s Office) — The Workforce Investment Agency of the Department of Labor CNMI held business engagement briefings on March 2 in Tinian and March 8 in Rota. Members of the business community, both public and private sectors, received information about the Innovation Act services and workforce opportunities and state expansion programs CNMI apprenticeship to meet their labor needs. Both sessions were well attended.

Labor Secretary Vicky Benavente said: “This is the first time that we have organized an information session for the two islands under the WIOA and CNMI ASE programs and we plan to organize more of these sessions in near future.” She was delighted to see the level of participation from local businesses. “It was nice to see the different companies attending our briefings and the engagement during the presentations,” she added.

Employers are essential partners in the WIOA service delivery system. The main objective of these sessions is to put more emphasis on engaging employers as partners.
