This new administrative role will be central to our future success. The successful candidate will be an important part of the school’s leadership team and create an environment of collaboration and commitment to achieve the school’s strategic goals (https://www.southampton.ac.uk/business-school/about/vision-mission.page) in line with the University’s strategy: (https://www.southampton.ac.uk/campaigns/strategy/).
In partnership with the Principal of the School, the Associate Director of Faculty Operations and their teams, you will play a key role in delivering the school’s exciting and ambitious strategy – an important part of the strategic ambition of the university. You will work collaboratively to support the school principal in implementing the school’s transformation strategy, while leading many of the day-to-day operations of a large, diverse and busy university school. This will include staff recruitment and retention activities, activity planning and monitoring, project-based work, coordination and design of key initiatives and activities related to research, education and student experience, enterprise and civic engagement.
Your leadership, influence and persuasion skills will enable you to build effective and constructive relationships with a wide range of academic and professional staff and key stakeholders within the School, Faculty and ‘University. You will facilitate a culture of agility and flexibility, enabling us to leverage new ways of working to benefit all of our activities and processes. Your collaborative approach to engagement will recognize that our people inspire and empower each other to apply their knowledge to transform people’s lives and impact business and society. Your highly developed skills in planning, analysis, prioritization, organization and communication will be essential to achieve the objectives of the position. You will enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and be comfortable with complexity and uncertainty.
